Starr and Alan's sweet Nashville wedding at The Bridge Building was reminiscent of a lush garden party brought indoors. Their day was planned by Big Events, a preeminent full-service Event and Destination Management Company with over 25 years of experience, and assisted by our in-house event planning and design company Infinity Hospitality. We sat down with Dede Scheibe with Big Events to learn more about Starr and Alan's special day, and about her experience with working with us.
How long have you been in the industry? What got you into the business?
My personal entry into the event industry was a happy accident. In 2009, I joined the Big Events team managing their financials and assisting on events as needed, gradually expanding into lead event planning. For the past several years I have acted as the company's GM and one of our full time Event Planners. With a background in Finance, this seems an unlikely match but it has been an unexpected joy. I love working with our talented team and the many wonderful clients that have come through our doors over the years.
What was the inspiration for the day? Did the couple have a specific style or theme in mind?
Classic and elegant. Bringing the outside in for a garden feel. Tons of greenery!
What was most important to the couple?
Starr and Alan's top priority was to create a beautiful and fun environment for their wedding guests. A really fun band was at the top of their list in accomplishing that goal. Music City Sound did not disappoint.
What unique details stand out to you?
I loved how Starr's garden vision came to fruition with tall greenery arrangements on the dinner tables and floral based lantern centerpieces in the tent. All wedding florals were designed and produced by our Big Events floral team. Even with these beautiful elements, my favorite had to be Starr's bouquet which highlighted her gorgeous dress. Beyond stunning!
What was it like working with the Infinity Hospitality team?
We had a wonderful experience with the Infinity Hospitality team. All of their staff were very professional and quick to respond to event needs on the fly. All the planning in the world cannot predict issues that arise at the last minute. Having a team in place with the expertise to meet them is essential.
